Hi all! My name is Maggie. I have had an interest in art and drawing since my childhood days because of cartoons and video games. Because of that, I was inspired to become an artist or a designer once I grew up. When I was in my early teenage years, I started building and designing my own websites from free domains like Yahoo! GeoCities as a hobby. From there, it also branched out to customizing my own social media pages, like good ol' Xanga and MySpace.
As I entered high school and college with freelancing and part-time jobs, I continued to pursue graphic design as a career. Although I’ve done a lot of web design work, my primary interests will always lead back to drawing and illustrating, mainly because my passion has always been for personal expression and cute things. I also sell some of my art on my Etsy shop and will try to create more when I have time to draw!
In the early 2000s, I watched a lot of anime as a teen and played many JRPG video games that have pretty angelic wings as a theme. It was a popular thing to have, so the idea of having wings really interested me. I always wished to be able to fly and be freed from everything. Then the name was born!
Later on, in the early 2010s, I created this website in college when I took a web design class. It was one of our required core classes for pursuing a graphic design degree. I also liked having short domain names and the letter "x," which was a cool letter to use during that time in an obscure and abstract way.
I've kept this domain name ever since, although my branding has changed quite a bit over time. I now run a small art business called Maggieful Designs, which was also a name I came up with when I started freelancing as a teen. I don't think I'll ever really stop using the name "WingsX," as I've seen the milestones I've reached along the way. It's a journey I'll continue to create and build, and I hope it connects with people who also enjoy art and creativity like me.
